The art of accusing each other and halting procedures!

Stalled proceedings. Protesting MPs. And a not-so-properly functioning national legislature. Yes, these are the very exact things going in the supreme legislative body of our country, the Parliament. Equivalently in the two Houses, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Whatever happens, the Opposition and the Ruling party, do not seem to go on agreeable terms!

Well, giving it a thought, aren't these Members of Parliament been elected by the people to represent their constituency, with the purpose of striking a chord at the Parliament ? And here they are, stalling the various procedures carried at the Houses and the both the Houses adjourning, not even before the mid-day! This is ridiculous!

The Parliament should be the platform for political debates, and ensure the proper functioning of various things, through proper intensive debates and so on. A debate is essential to get points of view from all sides. But that's not happening presently. All we see every other day is, the procedures stalled mid-way.

And on the other end, with all the media attention that they grab, the political parties have the latest fancied hobby of accusing each other. No matter however big or small the reason be, X or Y wants the Resignation of the concerned authority. Not exactly the concerned authorities, but the Minister who is in-charge of that. (See this one). Now how pleasing is that ? As if, one resignation is going to solve all the problems in the country! Ah !!

Meanwhile, when all this goes on, there are a lot of Bills and Laws in the pipeline, waiting to be passed through the proper channel of discussion in the Parliament. God knows, when all this is going to take place !!

Darkness

As I sit within these walls Those thoughts, the mind recalls Craving for that cosy hand With that familiar blue band The shadows in the moonlight Search for the bright sunlight That once existed, for long Without any inhibitions, forlorn The breeze sings in midnight Though the clock waits for the light With the miles crossing by But the moon floats, as its own alibi The walks sing their ballads Out when they call, the nomads Those who belong to this world Yet, while they lie all curved Along the streets, they speak Of stories which call them a freak Smile along they do with might When others smirk at their sight Forget those who are bemoan Running behinds dreams flown Chasing peaks which are unreachable Carrying loads pretty unbearable A day shall come, long-drawn When the time will dawn Upon them with a light so bright Fight, they shall, with all their might.

one heck of a trip..

its not everyday that u go for a trip. but the one which we went ws very exciting.. its not evryday tht u go to a 150 km trip unplanned and all of a sudden. so in that way it was special. we experienced everything in between. 8 of us. the trip wasnt wht it became at the beginning. at the start, the idea was just to hire a vehicle and roam around the city. but when we had hired the vehicle for a day, the thoughts began swirling. bright ideas came up of what to do with the vehicle in one day.. and amongst many options put forward, the Cherai Beach near Ernakulam was the one we fixed. Started in the night of that saturday. Lots of roaming abt the places and confusions in between regarding the routes. and besides that there was this shortage of fuel. a couple of times, we just reached the petrol pump, jus when the fuel was getting over. the whole night we were driving. at abt 2:30 am we went to our friends' house on the way. now tat was a surprise 2 his mom.. then at abt early morning ...

The Trip

It was started off as just another Whatsapp group, but fortunately it ended up as something which materialized into a get-together. With couple of months of planning lead by our very own planning commision head, Mr. S, a trip to Ooty, worked out for the long weekend clubbed with Labor Day. The agenda was clear: A visit to our alma mater, a drive through the valleys of Ooty, and an overnight stay, and then the return day after - and yes, celebrating Mr. A’s homecoming as well. The plan looked simple, but the eagerness towards it wasn’t such. It had been a long time ever since the whole of Troublers (yes! that’s the name of our group), had sat down together, and talked like there wasn’t an end to the world. And The Trip was surely going to be a mark up for that. For me, it happened to be a rush through with missing out on the first day to The Trip. So after the hiccups with the month end closure and between the hurried heartbeats decrypting the excitement into smiles, I boarded t...
