A Thousand Splendid Suns – Khaled Hosseini
This was the second book which I read, written by Khaled Hosseini. The first one being The Kite Runner. And similar to that, A Thousand Splendid Suns also a ocean of emotions. This time there is an addition, relationships. Relationships as that of a husband, a father, a wife, a mother, a son, a daughter. The story revolves around the lives of two women, beginning from their childhood, and how unknowingly they get intertwined together for life, destined by fate and circumstances. They don’t go together at the start, but at the end they have to. How well and to what extend they do things for each other, is an example of sorts.
And at amongst all this time, it also explains the duals that the people of Afghanistan had to suffer during those times. Certain feeling or remorse does come into our hearts, but more than that, there needs to be a lot of appreciation for them too. Because, it is easier said than done. They have to go through a lot of hardships. They have to leave their homeland, not because they wish, because staying on, may be a matter of life and death!
Must read !
