Should we exist this way ?

The curiosity of mankind with finding Life on another planet has always been there. Various scientific expeditions, telescopes roaming all over the outer space, various researches going on. And often there are reports all over stating that there are life supporting planets many light years away from our own.

Considering the philosophical side of it. Suppose if we do come across such a world, where life exists. We as a life form called HUMANS, existing on this third planet of the solar system called Earth. We have our own definitions for things that exist. It was around 5 or 6 years ago that the planet Pluto was deprived of its "planet" status. And there are various things as well, which we define for our own sensibilities.

As humans, we are supposed to co-exist with all the fellow living beings on the Earth. But that's not what is happening. Just wonder, that one day, we do discover that there is a life-existing planet other than ours, and there is a life-form as well!
And when we try to approach them, and they nudge us aside saying that we are NOT humans ! According to their notions, we don't classify to be something called Home Sapiens. Homo Sapiens do not destroy it's own living place. It doesn't harm the other fellow natural beings that are co-existing here. They don't erode the planet of all it's rich resources. And it doesn't at all involve in practicing acts which end up ending the precious lives of one another. No we are not Humans!

People will only realise it when somebody who is not Human, deprives us of our human status! Yes, I know I am being too hypothetical in this. But it was just a thought which came to mind. What if such things do happen ? What if, in the search of our own neighbours, we end up losing our own status. The plethora of accusations which we receive from our own kind, we don't hinder them even a thought. We keep them aside. Only when it comes as a question to our existence, we speak. Only then do we react. Only then it would lead to cross examination, as to how ruthless and senseless we are. Or rather, all that we propagate of our intelligence and sensibility, how all of it is just, a farce!

Think!

Darkness

As I sit within these walls Those thoughts, the mind recalls Craving for that cosy hand With that familiar blue band The shadows in the moonlight Search for the bright sunlight That once existed, for long Without any inhibitions, forlorn The breeze sings in midnight Though the clock waits for the light With the miles crossing by But the moon floats, as its own alibi The walks sing their ballads Out when they call, the nomads Those who belong to this world Yet, while they lie all curved Along the streets, they speak Of stories which call them a freak Smile along they do with might When others smirk at their sight Forget those who are bemoan Running behinds dreams flown Chasing peaks which are unreachable Carrying loads pretty unbearable A day shall come, long-drawn When the time will dawn Upon them with a light so bright Fight, they shall, with all their might.

The Trip

It was started off as just another Whatsapp group, but fortunately it ended up as something which materialized into a get-together. With couple of months of planning lead by our very own planning commision head, Mr. S, a trip to Ooty, worked out for the long weekend clubbed with Labor Day. The agenda was clear: A visit to our alma mater, a drive through the valleys of Ooty, and an overnight stay, and then the return day after - and yes, celebrating Mr. A’s homecoming as well. The plan looked simple, but the eagerness towards it wasn’t such. It had been a long time ever since the whole of Troublers (yes! that’s the name of our group), had sat down together, and talked like there wasn’t an end to the world. And The Trip was surely going to be a mark up for that. For me, it happened to be a rush through with missing out on the first day to The Trip. So after the hiccups with the month end closure and between the hurried heartbeats decrypting the excitement into smiles, I boarded t...

My Book Review - The Kite Runner

The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini Recently read this book. A wonderful work with blending of emotions. The story was interesting in the way it moved on from childhood to future life of the central character. It explains a lot about life in Afghanistan, though it is way back in the 80s, but still many times I felt really sorry for the life there. In a creation of fiction, it doesn't seem to be safe at all, so in reality, it would be worse.Would suggest anyone to read through it. The story is a definite example of the fact that, we do commit mistakes in our lives, and that there are chances to rectify them as well.
