It's Essential to Write

This should start off with a basic question - When was the last time you wrote?

No, not on the keyboard exercise, but the actual pen and paper thing? Can't remember? Well, then you should probably read this.

These are times, where we do a lot of work on our digital devices. The massive reports which we prepare for work, the various excel sheets that we drool upon during our work times, the blogs we write, the posts we like and love - all of it. We scroll through many articles on the net, type in comments. Our tweets, our posts, everything is digital now.

So at this time, let's make it a point to revamp and think the time when we used to write a lot of papers during our school time? Feels nostalgic, right? That's the thing with pen and paper, they are becoming nostalgic. Even though, they are always present around us.

I work as a sales professional, and most of my time is spent in front of my laptop, as part of work. And most often, all these devices have become our life in short - spanning everything we do, to everything we know. I do take a pen and paper onto my hand, but it's very rare, to calculate things, to jot down points, etc.

There's a saying, that if we don't practice something which we know for a long time, we tend to forget it. Just imagine what if that same thing happens to our writing? It has a strange sound to it but could become a reality. Let's try not writing for a really long time, and then pick a pen and paper to write something long - you shall realise the difference.

So let's keep the habit of writing intact. Journal entries could be the best thing to do it. It helps you lighten off your day onto a paper, and also keeps the human touch intact. The paper becomes your best friend, and you just scribble it all onto it. It could be anything for that matter - a journal, hand-written birthday notes, post-it notes, hand-written to-do list - all of this help.

So let's try this - a better use of pen and the paper. Because, it's essential to write - for keeping the human in us intact.

Vicious Circle of Survival of the Fittest

It's one of the famous theories existing in the world. The one part of the evolutionary theory proposed by Charles Darwin, which we all have learnt in school - "Survival of the fittest". Along the years of human evolution, the above said principle has seen to be followed by us as a species. And it is very evident in other species as well. The strong and the healthy ones, survive the competition and progress further in time. The ones who are weak, perish and the cycle repeats for numerous number of times. It might have been repeating for millions of years! Once one-sided, but it returns back! When we reflect on our society, we see the very repercussions of this theory in it. People have been evolving as civilizations along many years, and there have been remarkable changes in our societies as well. But as we should see two sides of everything, there are two sections of people, one which is very well off in their lives, and another section which is not at all so. P...

In the chilling temperature !

Yeh. Had been up early today. There was a task at hand. Had gone to leave my brother for his school trip, and apparently, it didn't get over until about 3 hours later than scheduled time. And in between all these, I was standing in the cold air for all the 3 hours. It was an experience ! With hands in my pockets all the time, shivering at times !! Eeeew !! And here, the nights seem to get chill each and every day.My evening walks are turning to be freezing cold. But still, I hang on. I just can't imagine people in Europe going through the temperatures out there ! It's way down the negative scale !! Hats off to them !

The Trip

It was started off as just another Whatsapp group, but fortunately it ended up as something which materialized into a get-together. With couple of months of planning lead by our very own planning commision head, Mr. S, a trip to Ooty, worked out for the long weekend clubbed with Labor Day. The agenda was clear: A visit to our alma mater, a drive through the valleys of Ooty, and an overnight stay, and then the return day after - and yes, celebrating Mr. A’s homecoming as well. The plan looked simple, but the eagerness towards it wasn’t such. It had been a long time ever since the whole of Troublers (yes! that’s the name of our group), had sat down together, and talked like there wasn’t an end to the world. And The Trip was surely going to be a mark up for that. For me, it happened to be a rush through with missing out on the first day to The Trip. So after the hiccups with the month end closure and between the hurried heartbeats decrypting the excitement into smiles, I boarded t...
