The Weekend Mysore Trip :)

A detailed account of the Road trip which me and my family went on, last weekend. :)

The Pyramid Spiritual Society

It's at the place named Kanakpura. With all the serene surroundings, and a quiet atmosphere, this place looks beautiful. It's a meditation center. Okay, there was this huge Pyramid there. I mean, really HUGE. The concept is that, the shape of the Pyramid is perfect for concentration the cosmic energy into you, and that you can meditate peacefully inside that. It was an interesting visit. I tried sitting inside of it, idle and quite. As in, when everyone enters, they say to them cautiously to stay REALLY QUIET inside the Pyramid, since it might be a disturbance to others. Thus it was a quiet atmosphere inside that. Was a good experience.

Shivanasamudra Falls

The next place of visit was the Shivanasamudra Waterfalls. Cauvery is the river's name. So the thing about it - IT WAS HEAVENLY !! I mean, it was such a wonderful place and the sight was too pleasuring. It's such a beautiful (and of course romantic) place ! And the most of all, it was a treat for the shutterbugs. I was like, viewing everything around and clicking on and on !! And we saw a couple of monkeys too. People were feeding cucumbers to the monkeys, and they were curiously taking it in their hands. One monkey was having two slices of cucumber in it's hands, and then trying to take another one from a spectator, by stuffing what were in his hands, into his mouth. It was so cute !! :D And then we would have stayed for a longer time there, unless it had rained. It's a splendid place, worth spending your whole evening there. You could listen to all the noises of the waters falling, which sounds so beautiful !

Mysore Palace - The Illuminated Version

The next stop was @ Mysore Palace. Though I had been there before, viewing the illuminated version of the Palace was a new experience. It must be said, it's such a splendid sight. And it's aggravated by the amount of lights that are there on the Palace. That's so many! By around 7 pm in the evening on the weekends, it is illuminated. The illumination process happens only gradually, to bring about the proper effect. It was EYE-POPPING !! :D Would require a more splendid camera to capture all the beauty of it in the low-light.

Brindavan Gardens

Huge garden, with so so many flowers and greenery around. A beautiful sight. And it's wonderful to have a walk around that too. As always, was taking snaps and walking around. :D There isn't things too popular out there. It's just that the whole area is good to watch and has lots of flowers and greenery. Nothing to be completely awed about otherwise. And another catch of the Brindavan Gardens is the Musical Fountain, that is displayed after dusk. A brilliant display mixture of spraying water through sprinklers and fountains, in sync with the music.

Sangam

Sangam is the place, where the river Cauvery comes from two different sides and paths, and joins. The water is really deep down there, and is considered to be an auspicious place.

Tipu's Summer Palace

This is a small-size Palace, which was used by Tipu in the early 1700s. The walls of this palace have all been hand-painted by artists of those times, and it's so pretty ! I mean, it's the description of all those horses, elephants and the tales of winning wars by the warriors. That's what been said in the paintings. Not through words, through it's art. And the Summer Palace is actually a sort-of Museum now. It contains various dresses, weapons, and other things used by Tipu Sultan. There is a full-portrait painting of young Tipu Sultan, the speciality of which is that, from whichever angle we view it, it'll seem that it's eyes are looking directly at us. I tested it as well. Was surprised to see it live. :D

Gumbaz (Hyder Ali's Tomb)

Then there was another place called Gumbaz. It is Hyder Ali's tomb, built in the memory of Tipu's father. It has beautiful architecture. Similar to the white marble Taj Mahal has been built with, there are pillars at Gumbaz, built with black marbles. And they look splendid. It's very hard to get those kind of marbles now, they say. And even though those pillars are centuries old, they still have their perfect shine. Adorable ones ! Overall, the place had a nice feeling. :)

The Ranganathaswamy Temple - Srirangapatna

Until next time! :)

Darkness

As I sit within these walls Those thoughts, the mind recalls Craving for that cosy hand With that familiar blue band The shadows in the moonlight Search for the bright sunlight That once existed, for long Without any inhibitions, forlorn The breeze sings in midnight Though the clock waits for the light With the miles crossing by But the moon floats, as its own alibi The walks sing their ballads Out when they call, the nomads Those who belong to this world Yet, while they lie all curved Along the streets, they speak Of stories which call them a freak Smile along they do with might When others smirk at their sight Forget those who are bemoan Running behinds dreams flown Chasing peaks which are unreachable Carrying loads pretty unbearable A day shall come, long-drawn When the time will dawn Upon them with a light so bright Fight, they shall, with all their might.

The Trip

It was started off as just another Whatsapp group, but fortunately it ended up as something which materialized into a get-together. With couple of months of planning lead by our very own planning commision head, Mr. S, a trip to Ooty, worked out for the long weekend clubbed with Labor Day. The agenda was clear: A visit to our alma mater, a drive through the valleys of Ooty, and an overnight stay, and then the return day after - and yes, celebrating Mr. A’s homecoming as well. The plan looked simple, but the eagerness towards it wasn’t such. It had been a long time ever since the whole of Troublers (yes! that’s the name of our group), had sat down together, and talked like there wasn’t an end to the world. And The Trip was surely going to be a mark up for that. For me, it happened to be a rush through with missing out on the first day to The Trip. So after the hiccups with the month end closure and between the hurried heartbeats decrypting the excitement into smiles, I boarded t...

My Book Review - The Kite Runner

The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini Recently read this book. A wonderful work with blending of emotions. The story was interesting in the way it moved on from childhood to future life of the central character. It explains a lot about life in Afghanistan, though it is way back in the 80s, but still many times I felt really sorry for the life there. In a creation of fiction, it doesn't seem to be safe at all, so in reality, it would be worse.Would suggest anyone to read through it. The story is a definite example of the fact that, we do commit mistakes in our lives, and that there are chances to rectify them as well.
