Vicious Circle of Survival of the Fittest

It's one of the famous theories existing in the world. The one part of the evolutionary theory proposed by Charles Darwin, which we all have learnt in school - "Survival of the fittest".

Along the years of human evolution, the above said principle has seen to be followed by us as a species. And it is very evident in other species as well. The strong and the healthy ones, survive the competition and progress further in time. The ones who are weak, perish and the cycle repeats for numerous number of times. It might have been repeating for millions of years!
Once one-sided, but it returns back!

When we reflect on our society, we see the very repercussions of this theory in it. People have been evolving as civilizations along many years, and there have been remarkable changes in our societies as well. But as we should see two sides of everything, there are two sections of people, one which is very well off in their lives, and another section which is not at all so. People who are quite set in the society in terms of their education, standard of living, well-being do carry on with their lives in a much comfortable way. But there is another larger portion of people who strive very hard to make ends meet, for a course of meal in their day, for decent facilities of life, etc. It's none of their fault, it's just the societal setup which the world has been facing for centuries!

As years progress, the societal set up not only escapes change, but all the more degrades. That's obvious as the famous catchphrase goes "The rich get richer and the poor get poorer". Either sides of the society, are moving to the extreme conditions of each. But as years progress, and as we can see and face our constant source of resource depletion, it's a strange thought that creeps into the mind.

The rich are accustomed to live their lives, with all the facilities and good conditions in their life. But the other part of the society, live in a much less-fortunate way. And when all the resources get depleted, I suppose the tables are gonna turn.

Post that stage, when the whole world is going to lack in resources, the now-well off could be striving to survive, and the very ones which have lack of resources, will probably manage through. Because they are much more adapted to scarcity.

And thus, the cycle of life will keep on repeating, with just the conditions and clauses changing. The resources will change, and so will the people surviving.

P.S: This post is no way related to oppose the under-privileged in any way.

  1. Isn't it intriguing that when you cross a border, you find people who are living in incredible poverty and when cross another, people are living luxurious and hearty lifestyles. We always say the world is interconnected but apparently, is it only that border that defines whether a country is "first world" or "third world"... Interesting isn't it? Am I making sense?

  2. Apologies for the late reply.

Absolutely! The differences are very much visible across borders. And why say, even within borders such differences are omnipresent! You made sense in a way, those are things which are defining the nations of the world these days! But when you stretch on a larger perspective, it would be much interesting to know the ways of lives around different countries! What do you think?

The Trip

It was started off as just another Whatsapp group, but fortunately it ended up as something which materialized into a get-together. With couple of months of planning lead by our very own planning commision head, Mr. S, a trip to Ooty, worked out for the long weekend clubbed with Labor Day. The agenda was clear: A visit to our alma mater, a drive through the valleys of Ooty, and an overnight stay, and then the return day after - and yes, celebrating Mr. A’s homecoming as well. The plan looked simple, but the eagerness towards it wasn’t such. It had been a long time ever since the whole of Troublers (yes! that’s the name of our group), had sat down together, and talked like there wasn’t an end to the world. And The Trip was surely going to be a mark up for that. For me, it happened to be a rush through with missing out on the first day to The Trip. So after the hiccups with the month end closure and between the hurried heartbeats decrypting the excitement into smiles, I boarded t...

It's Essential to Write

This should start off with a basic question - When was the last time you wrote? No, not on the keyboard exercise, but the actual pen and paper thing? Can't remember? Well, then you should probably read this. These are times, where we do a lot of work on our digital devices. The massive reports which we prepare for work, the various excel sheets that we drool upon during our work times, the blogs we write, the posts we like and love - all of it. We scroll through many articles on the net, type in comments. Our tweets, our posts, everything is digital now. So at this time, let's make it a point to revamp and think the time when we used to write a lot of papers during our school time? Feels nostalgic, right? That's the thing with pen and paper, they are becoming nostalgic. Even though, they are always present around us. I work as a sales professional, and most of my time is spent in front of my laptop, as part of work. And most often, all these devices have become our...

elections in d country..

Kerala and various other states of d country went to the vote on the 16th of April as part of the Phase-I of the elections in the country. And this time it is going to be really competitive. coz this time people want change. people r more aware of things. they are not going to fall for those old promises and vote. they r definitely changed. this is the scenario not at all places, but same places atleast. so this time its been different from olden times. so the political parties had to work really hard this time to gather votes for them. But after all, thinking generally, elections must be the process of electing proper officials to power and not just political parites. it must b an exercise that leads to the shaping of the country. And interesting thing is, u can always recollect all the negative aspects of the different political parties in the country at the time of elections. They all pin point mistakes of each others. So u surely get to know more. I am feeling sad that I couldn...
