The Power of Social Media

The power of social media isn't a new thing. The popularity of various things, has been due to the advent of the social media. The real-time sharing of almost everything online, the eye-catchy things get a lot of attention, through sharing, similar to the word-of-mouth in real-life!

The recent one being the maddening popularity of the "Kolaveri Di" song. It had been a sensation on social media, and later on, it caught the attention of the national media, and a huge lot of other people. And there have been various opinions about the song too - not-so-worthy, hilarious, good tune - a mix of everything!

But, the truth must be that, it's the sensational popularity of it on the social media like Twitter, Facebook, with the exponentially increasing hits on YouTube, the song became everything. Not that it liked quality though, but the national media would never have played it otherwise. Not that it lacked the quality. But there are lots of other scores which are played continuously, you know!

The Trip

It was started off as just another Whatsapp group, but fortunately it ended up as something which materialized into a get-together. With couple of months of planning lead by our very own planning commision head, Mr. S, a trip to Ooty, worked out for the long weekend clubbed with Labor Day. Kerala and various other states of d country went to the vote on the 16th of April as part of the Phase-I of the elections in the country. And this time it is going to be really competitive. coz this time people want change. people r more aware of things. they are not going to fall for those old promises and vote. they r definitely changed. this is the scenario not at all places, but same places atleast. so this time its been different from olden times. so the political parties had to work really hard this time to gather votes for them. But after all, thinking generally, elections must be the process of electing proper officials to power and not just political parites. it must b an exercise that leads to the shaping of the country. And interesting thing is, u can always recollect all the negative aspects of the different political parties in the country at the time of elections. They all pin point mistakes of each others.
